Children’s Hour follows a collaborative and structured process for curriculum planning and delivery; using Pre Birth To Three, Curriculum for Excellence; Building the Ambition; Child at the Centre, GIRFEC, UNCRC and by sharing good practice.

Through our Curriculum, staff will encourage each child to reach their own potential by providing a wide range of activities balanced according to their needs and in the following ways:

• Keeping and maintaining a balance between child directed and adult directed activities.

• Creating a friendly and welcoming learning environment where children will feel engaged and motivated to learn.

• Planning a curriculum which takes into account prior learning, cultural differences and special educational needs.

• Working in partnership with parents to support children’s progress.
